Tony's Pasties (meat pie)

Ingredients

  • Pie dough 
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 yellow onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 pkg shredded potatoes
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a big bowl, combine beef, onion, carrots, potatoes, and add salt & pepper (do not pre-cook filling).

Separate into 3 even portions.

Roll out dough to create 3 meat pies. 

Add beef mixture to the center of each piece of dough.

Fold dough over beef mixture and pinch the edges together.

Brush dough with the raw egg.

Bake for 50 minutes.
