The kitchen is heating up at
Sonrisa Senior Living! Chef Anthony Vo from our community in Roseville, CA, is competing alongside 17 other talented contestants on season 23 of Fox’s hit show
Hell’s Kitchen, hosted by acclaimed celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Chef Vo’s culinary journey began when he was just 16, taking on the challenge of preparing Thanksgiving dinner for his grandparents. His passion for cooking was deeply influenced by his grandmother, a hospital chef, who instilled in him a love for the culinary arts. As he later cared for her during her battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia, his dedication to senior living and cooking deepened. With more than a decade of experience in senior living kitchens, Chef Vo has honed his ability to create meals that are both delicious and nutritious, using innovative techniques like miso marination to elevate his steak dishes.
“For me, being on the show was everything,” Vo told the Sacramento Business Journal. “Being a senior living chef and one of the younger chefs on the show, I already knew I was going to have to work hard and show everyone why I was there. There have been other senior living chefs that have been on there but they haven’t showcased what we do too well, so I wanted to change that.”
Beyond Hell’s Kitchen, Chef Vo’s accolades continue to grow. He has demonstrated heart-healthy recipes on
FOX40, and his work has been featured in the
Sacramento Business Journal and the
Sacramento Bee.
Chef Vo exemplifies the incredible talent we’re proud to have at Watermark Retirement Communities. His passion and creativity shine through in every dish, ensuring our residents enjoy a dining experience like no other. We’re thrilled to cheer him on as he brings the heat to Hell’s Kitchen!
