Resident Ambassadors

WHERE NEW FRIENDS EMBRACE YOU

Expand your social circle in a community that celebrates you.

When you or a loved one moves to a senior living community, it’s natural to experience first-day jitters. Heck, first-week jitters. With so many new people and a new way of living, you might feel like a fish out of water. But imagine living in a close-knit community where everyone knows your name. A place where new friends and peers understand you, and support your interests and needs. A place where people are cheering you on.

Today’s older adults want to live in a community they can connect with and where they feel like they belong. Although it can be challenging to forge new friendships as an older adult, you or a loved one can find the support, companionship, and lasting friendships to help you lead a fulfilling life at any Watermark community.

That’s where our Resident Ambassadors come in. Gain insider knowledge from your friendly ambassador, a fellow resident who’s here to help you get settled and make introductions to other residents. Your ambassador, or resident buddy, will share their tips and tricks for easing into community life, getting involved, and flourishing in your new community. Resident Ambassadors are here to show you the ropes, answer your questions, and help you take advantage of everything the Watermark lifestyle has to offer.

It’s no secret that staying socially active and engaging with friends can promote emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being, leading to a happier, healthier life. In fact, social interaction has many positive health benefits for older adults. It can help boost memory and cognitive function; decrease feelings of isolation, loneliness, and depression; improve self-esteem; and provide a sense of purpose and belonging. Social engagement can even help lower blood pressure, boost immunity, and promote longevity.

Whether it’s joining peers at a sculpture workshop, sharing belly laughs and good conversation with friends over a delicious meal, starting the day in a group yoga class, meeting neighbors for a museum outing, or socializing at happy hour, Watermark communities are full of opportunities and spaces to socialize, meet other residents, and develop meaningful relationships.
