In this issue of On the Mark, I am thrilled to share some exciting updates and initiatives that underscore Watermark’s ongoing commitment to innovation, data-driven decision-making, and enhanced community engagement.
Inspiring and powerful updates to Watermark’s branding and creative strategy are now being rolled out across all of our communities.
Watermark is leveraging advanced data analytics to enhance our operational efficiency and resident experience. Innovative data visualization tools are enabling us to make better decisions faster, giving us a competitive edge over other operators. And our proprietary system, Watermark Connect, integrates critical systems to provide real-time analytics and performance tracking to support strategic planning and continuous improvement. I spoke about this recently on a panel webinar for Senior Housing News, which you can read about and view HERE.
Speaking of associates, Watermark’s Whole Community Bonus Plan incentivizes associates to contribute to financial performance and occupancy, rewarding their dedication and hard work. This program has proven to be a valuable tool in recruiting and retaining top talent.
Our commitment to growth and excellence extends to future developments. While we have faced challenges in this area, we have a pipeline of nearly $2.25 billion in potential developments across more than 15 projects, focusing on high-end independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities. These projects align with the preferences of the aging baby boomer generation and are set to meet the growing demand.
Watermark views value-based care as a long-term commitment to improving residents' quality of life. Innovations in resident care through our 360Well® program allow residents to choose their own wellness paths. Supported by on-site medical services and partnerships, like with PointClickCare, our value-based care model has significantly reduced falls, hospital visits, and unnecessary medications.
Our robust cybersecurity is always running behind-the-scenes. Watermark’s seamless integration of security practices, intuitive tools, automation of routine tasks, and user education and feedback minimizes disruption for our associate teams. This approach not only safeguards our operations but also enhances productivity and user satisfaction.
And, hot off the press (electronic, that is) ... I am delighted to share the second edition of our digital lifestyle magazine, Inspire. This biannual publication offers an immersive experience with captivating videos and audio recordings that address the unique interests of our residents, caregivers, families, and associates. This magazine is a celebration of the remarkable lives and experiences within our vibrant communities, and it’s available now on our website.
Warm regards,
David Barnes
